ASSAULT WITH KNIFE.
“ BOILED OVER." 1 \\';\N(‘:ANUI. Friday. At the Supreme Court George Burns was found guilty of assaulting George Caun and causing actual hodiiy harm. Mr Justice Smith admitted him to probation, he to pay costs of the prosecution. Cann was a boarder in Burns‘ house and caused an estransement between Burns and his wife. ,Thia culminated in Burns attacking Cann with a knife. and inflicting a severe wound on his right arm. 'Burns' counsel said that he “boiled over," and the Jury in returning their verdict referred to the extreme provocation Burns had received and recommended mercy.
