Dominion Secretary. .\iaior i-‘urby was on ‘his way to Auckland where he will be spending a few days’ holiday, and was, as far as possible looking up all districts en route and has also planned to he in Auck~ land to meet the Dominion Chiei’ Commissioner, Colonel Fenwick. on his return from a. health trip to Australia. District headquarters have received advice that a trip to the tails out or Matamata will he held on Sunday. May 31. A bus has been hired and will leave the Cambridge clock tower at 0 a.m., the fare being ?s 3d. Those wishing to so are asked to get in touch with Ranger captain Pi Levesque, Thornton Road, Cambridge or Rover \V. Allen, Brady street, Te AWEmutu before .\iay 95, Monday next. Last Saturday. the Rovers held a campfire to which they invited the Rangers and all Scouters, the function being held at Hover Grinder‘s, Boundary Road. Several stunts were put on during the rainpflre and caused much fun. the song sheets typed for the occasion were much appreciated. it was good fun and I think everyone pres—ent will agree that they enjoyed themselves. Silrri‘ Wolf would like to see more. or those functions held. perhaps at monthly intervals during the winter. Go to it Smuters and see what ran be done. Silver \Volf would again bring- to the notice of all Scouters the fact that the Scout Column needs notes from the individual troops and that these very rarely come to hand. At present the Packs are showing the Troops up to the Troops‘ disadvantage in this respect but surely they don‘t intend the little fellows to be ahead or them in this for lonsr.
