THIS YEAR’S COMPETITIONS
MY FAVOURITE BOOK Peter was thinking very hard as to which of the many interesting competitions he has in mind. he would give you for the very first one of the season and a very old and interested friend of our circle came along with a children's page in another paper. “ Hulio, Peter," he said, “you are just the person lam looking for. i thought your little people might like a competition like this too." Well, Peter has read the page his friend gave him and he thought that for the very first competition of all it would be a very Jolly one, and one that every single one of you can do. It was a competition for “My Favourite IBook." in the paper that Peter was given there is the loveliest variety of books, among the most popular being the “Anne" and “ Emily" ones by L. M. Montgomery, and “ Little \Vomen," by Louise M. Alcott. Do try everyone. All you have to do is to write Peter a medium length letter telling him which is your favourite book, and why, or which is your favourite, iind perhaps give a few little incidents from it. Remember to write on one side of the paper only, and he sure to put your name, age and address. as well as your penname. Any entries not obeying these rules will be disqualified. Send your letters to— Peter Pzin, Waikato Times omce, by Saturday, June 30, and mark your envelopes “ Competition." Senior: 13 years and over. Intermediate: 10 to 12 years. Junior: 9 years and under.
