Attractive quality, however, was lack—ing, and values showed no advance beyond those of the previous week. The best consignments commanded fair competition and prices from £6 15s to ‘ £7 155 were obtained for the most attractive to enter the ring. Others sold from £4 to £6 155. Sheep and Figs, A larger entry or fat sheep included several pens of prime wethers and ewes, and with the improved quality submitted, bidding was stimulated and values showed an improvement over those of last Friday and wcre fully up to late Frankton rates. A heavy en~‘ try of lambs was also more eagerly sought and here again the market was affected by improved quality. A keen bench or buyers was attracted for the sale of special entries( of store wethers and breeding cwes.‘ A buoyant market resulted for weth- ‘ ers and values were fully up to expec- ‘ tations. pri-ces ran-sing from 195 'Jd to 23s 11d. For breeding ewes the best sale for some weeks resulted, the best lines of young sheep being traded at prices ranging to 33s 7d. With a limited number offering. a sharp advance was noted for bacon pigs, several pens making ’73s an advance of is on the top price of Frank—ton last Tuesday. There was a very heavy yardlng of fat and store pigs. Biaconers sold at advanced rates under very keen oompetition, while prime porkers also met with a ready demand. Unfinished sorts were as keenly sort after.
