WAIHOU STOCK SAL*. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report, that at their fortnightly stock sale in the Waihou saleyards yesterday all classes of cattle came forward in large numbers. Beef sold at rates above those ruling last sale and also in excess of central yards’ values. Heavy secondquality cows and boners were not as keenly competed for owing to reduced schedule rates. Sheep: These were penned in average numbers, and sold at late rates. Pigs: There was practically a full yarding of fat pigs, comprising mostly porkers. Competition for baconers and heavy porkers was keen, full late rates being maintained, while, as at other centres, light porkers were not so keenly sought., but practically a total clearance was effected at * this week’s schedule. The demand for stores and weaners was better than last sale, and prices firmed. We quote:— Cattle: Heavy prime cows, £5 13s to £6 Is; medium. £4 19s to £5 10s; light. £3 13s to £4 12s; medium fat heifers, £3 12s to £4 6s; light, £2 4s to £2 12s; heavy second quality cows, £2 10s to £3 2s; heavy boners, 38s to £2 6s; light, 22s to 355; small yearling heifers, 27s to 355; potter bulls, 35s to £4 Bs.

Sheep: Prime 2-tooth wethers to 27s 7d; light, 24s 6d to 24s 8d; store, 16s 3d to 20s; heavy lambs, 23s 3d to 255; medium, 21s 6d to 22s 9d; light, 19s 6d -to 20s 8d; f.c. lambs to 15s 6d. Pigs: Best baconers. £3 3s to £3 6s; medium. £2 18s to £3 2s; light., £2 12s to £2 18s; heavy porkers, 38s to £2 ss: medium. 32s to 355; light. 26s to 31s; unfinished. 18s to 245; choppers, 30s to £2 3s; large stores, 18s to 21s 6d; medium, 15s to 17s fid; best slips. 12s to 16s; others, 8s to 11s; weaners, 4s to 8s
