TE MATA NEWS.
CARD PARTY. The first 500 evening to count for the season’s prize, in the series of evenings arranged for the winter months by the Te Mata school committee, was a most successful function, despite the wet weather, and a very enjoyable evening was spent. The evening’s prize for the ladies was won by Mrs E. A. Jerome, and for the men by Mr E. A. Jerome, the ladies’ booby falling to Mrs G. Stephenson. Supper was provided by the ladies. DANCE AT TE HUTIWAI. A very jolly dance was held in the Te Hutiwai school room on Friday, in aid of school funds. The room was filled to capacity. Novelty dances were much enjoyed. Music was played by Mrs G. Saunders, Mrs H. Walker and Master Keith Walker. Mr H. Walker was M.C. Supper was provided by the Te Hutiwai ladies.
