BEST SALE FOR YEARS. DEMAND FOR JERSEYS. DISPERSAL OF PENCARRO\V STUD. Realising the highest values ob—talned in the \Naikato for several years, the complete dispersal sale of the well—known “Pencm‘row” Jersey Stud, the property of Mr F. E. Day, was held at. the homestead, Tumahere, yesterday. The buying bench ln-clud-ed many 01‘ the Dominion‘s most pro—minent Jersey breeders and one of the largest attendances seen at, a pedigree sale in the \Vailmto included buyers from the North Auckland and Taranaki districts.

For the matrons of the stud, pri-eesi ranging to Signs were paid, while the demand for heifers and yearling} bulls was scarcely less animated. For‘ heifers, prices ranged from 10 to‘ 235 m. and from 10 to GGigns for year—i ling bulls. The demand for the young stock was excellent, yearling bulls of outstanding ancestry being in eager request. The offering included 33 cows, ‘2 heifers and 21 bulls. For the total of 63 head sold the average price was Qiigns. The sale was Aeondueted by the Farmers‘ Auctioneering Company. with Messrs S. R. \Vehb and: T. J. Loughlin in the rostrum, and Mr \V. J. Livingstone as sales manager. Details of sales. The top price of the day. aligns, was paid by Miss E. Barnett. of Tirau. for‘ the great breeding cow. Pencarow Daisy Princess, the outstanding matron in the Penczu‘row Stud, and the 15— year—old daughter of Masterman of 'Pen-carrow and Daisy Daydream. Ani—mated competition was shown for a yearling son of Masterman of Pencarrow and 'Daisy Daydream, the Strat—ford breeder, Mr H. J. Kaye, being the final, bidder at 66igns, the top price of the day for males:
