BOWLING.
‘ OLAUDELANDS own. i A SUCCESSFUL YEAR. t __.‘ MR \V. B. YOUNG NE\V PRESIDENT Bright prospects for another successful year were reported at the twelfth annual meeting of the Cleudeiands Bowling Club last. evening. Interest in the club‘s affairs was reflected in ”the large attendance of members, a fact which was commented upon by the president, Mr C. A. Speight, who presided. ' The annual report and statement 0! accounts which were published in the Waikato Times last week, and reviewed a highly successful season,l were adopted. ‘ in moving the adoption of the report nnd balance sheet, the chairman‘ said the members could congratulatei themselves on having experienced I‘ very successful year. Membership had shown a gratifying increase, and there was every indication of further additions. This gave rise to the question of what policy the club was to adopt—whether membership was to be restricted, or further property acquired to overcome the rapidlydeveioping problem of accommodation. Mr Spcight referred to the excellent state of the club's greens and paid a tribute in the, 'work of the green—[ keeper. Mr G. Cleveiy, in this connection. lie also acknowledged the \\'iti‘ii of other members in bringing nlmut the picturesque condition of the club‘s ground. A decision to repay loans amnuntintz to £29, and put aside 5220 as the nucleus of a fund to ho usml as the committee may decide, was reached.
