From September 1 the peaked cap will be abolished, except for ceremonial occasions, being replaced by a field service cap similar to that tworn by the old Royal Flying Corps. 5 Trousers will replace brocches and E put-tees. ‘ Oi‘ticcrs’ fleid boots will be abolIlshed and a\blue web gaiter may be worn in inclement weather. ‘ An open-neck Jacket will be supplied ;to airmen instead or the close—fitting Etype; with it they will wear a blue—.grey collar and a black tie. This is tshnllar to the dress already authorised l for sergeants. Omcers will wear a blue shirt and !semi—vstii’t collar to match. The black !tie will be retained, but the present stiff white collar and white soft lshirt will disappear. Gaps In Pocket... ’ The changes in offlcers‘ dress will be introduced as from May 1, but the larder will not be compulsory until September 1. In the case of airmen. the new issues will be made from about September 1.
