TIRAU. ./ ’ RETURNED SOLDIERS’ REUNION. Returned soldiers or Tlrau and eurrounding- districts held their seventh annual reunion and smoke concert in the Tlrau Hall. There was a large attendanifems were contributed by Messrs. Hutchinson, J. Batley, 11. Cook, Lumley (song-s), and A. Bragg- (cornet solo). Mr It. Cook accompanied. Toasts were proposed and responded to by the president, Mr N. L. Hig-ginston, Messrs. G. Seton, L. Watkins, G. G. Grirnths, R. Coolc, M. E. Fitzgerald, Fisher. A. A. Wright, F. Rose, Peckston, H. Martin, and E. Gubb. The roll was called by Mr G. Seton. NGAHINAPOURI. ILLUSTRATED LECTURE. Mr Perry, or Auckland, who is In charge of the New Zealand branch of the “ Mission to Lepers,” gave a most interesting and instructive lantern lecture in the hall. There was a large number present, and a most enjoyable evening was spent. Pino Pong. On Saturday evening the opening of the Ping Pong Club was held in the nail. There was a good attendance of members and visitors. A “ Yankee ” tournament was held and some interesting games were played. Bridge Club. „ fcl „ At the weekly match of tho Ngahtnapour! A letter was received from Arapuni suggesting that tne Tokoroa, Putaruru, and IraSfnl branches of the Labour Party combine to rurther the interest of all members. There was a good attendance or members. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President, Mr J. Nome, vice-president, Mr V. Brunt; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. Ward; committee, Messrs j. Smith, ivo Harris, J. Findlay, Jnr., and Arnold; auditor, Mr H. J. Vallntine. Morrlnsvllle Dairy Company. The annual meeting of Taubel suppliers or the Morrinsville Dairy Company was held in the Taubel Hall recently. Mr J. Leeson, chairman or directors, presided. Mr Marrlot. of the Government Agricultural Department, was also present. After the business or the Dairy Company had been completed, Mr Marrlot gave a very interesting talk on feed flavours and pasture management. NGARUA. HERD TESTING ASSOCIATION. There was a large attendance at the annual meeting or the Ngarua group of the New Zealand Herd Testing Association, when Mr T. Vickers presided. Mr F. O. Knight, outside organiser, addressed the meeting. He thought that the herd average Tor the Ngarua group would be at least 2 5 51b of butter-Tat per cow, an Increase of 121 b. Mr R. A. Candy, chairman or directors, who recently returned from a visit to Australia, said that testing In Australia was done mostly on the farms and that the standard in New Zealand was well above any that he saw on his travels. The election of the committee resulted: Messrs W. Scott (convenor), F. Greenville and T. Vickers. Aocident at Faotory. Mr G. Bowden met with a painful accident at the Waitoa Tactory recently when a qan from which he was pouring milk slipped on the receiving stage. Mr Bowden fell to the concrete floor about 4ft below, striking his head, and was rendered unconscious. After receiving medical attention he was removed to hospital where his condition is reported to be satisfactory.
