THREE INJURED
MISHAP NEAR TE AROHA, TWO CARS AND A HORSE. PASSENGERS SLIGHTLY INJURED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TE AROHA, Wednesday. On the Te Aroha-Mangaiti Road last evening, Mr J. Robinson, a taxi driver, with a passenger, Mr G. Parton, was driving past Hancock's Farm when another car was about to overtake him. Just when the latter was attempting to pass, it was seen that Mr John Parton was coming from the other direction on a horse, and as the car attempted to pass between the horse and the taxi the animal shied, causing Mr G. R, Hossack, of Waihi. to swerve towards Robinson. The left-hand rearguard fouled Robinson's right-hand front mudguard, causing him to leave the road and run into a ditch against a hedge. Minor injuries were sustained by a Waihi passenger, Miss P. Hossack, dislocation of the right elbow, and the driver suffered facial injuries, while Mr John Parton sustained some broken ribs.
The horse was badly injured on the off hind leg.
