TE RAPA TRACKS. BEMI-FINAL QALLOPB. TRADESMAN’S GOOD EFFORT. ORAC LOOKS WELL.

The flags were out 30 feet on the course proper for fast work at Te Rapa this morning for the semi-final gallops of horses engaged at the approaching Waikato Racing Club's Winter meeting and several useful efforts were recorded. The presence of several visiting horses added interest to proceedings. Several schooling trials over hurdles and the country were witnessed by an interested gallery.

Gay Flier (Winder) slipped home from the thiee furlong peg in 435. There was little between Respectul (McKenzie) and Alby (light boy) who were practically on terms at the completion of five fyrlongs in i.B 1-5. Caloutta Over Six. Calcutta (McLaughlin) alone hit out over six furlongs in 1.24, the first two occupying 265. Gay Seton (A. Gilmer) and Prince Acre (Winder) were associated over six furlongs which they completed in 1-28. Neither was extended. A useful half-mile was credited to Le Chasseur (Mclnally), Orac (Day) and Hunting Mars (H. Gilmer) who came home in 53 l-ss. Orac appears to have benefited from recent racing. Over a round Lionheart (A. Gilmer) was doing better than Sirona (Winder) at the completion of a round encompassed in 2.9, the first six furlongs being cut out in 1.26. Jolly Beggar who put in an appearance on the track this morning put in a round on the inner grass but was never above three-qua'rter pace. He looks fit and well for his engagements hereFlit Acre and Lilbert were practically together with Gloucester over five furlongs which they were timed to run in I.B i. Dark Shadow finished home the last three furlongs of his work in 40s. Little Saint strode out freely over five furlongs in 1.125. He could have improved on the time. Wahlne Relhl Pleases. Wahine Reihi (Mclnally) showed her customary dash over five furlongs in company with Racemosus whom she beat, decidedly in 1.7 J. She ran her first furlong in 12s. She is in good order for her engagements ahead. Sinking Fund was sprinted down the straight. Instalment and Royal Mistake cama home over five furlongs in 1.10, the last three in 41 is. Tradesman was responsible for one of the best efforts of the morning, revelling in his work to come home along from the five furlong peg in 17. His last half-mile was run in 54$s. King Rey Improved. . | King Rey who has benefited by his recent work pleased by the manner in which he dashed over half-a-mile in 54 s. Blackman and Adalene ran five furlongs in 1.9. Whirling (Bowden) ran home from the half-mile in 555, the last three furlongs in 39is. Trouvaille (McMahon) clocked 1.9 for five furlongs the last half-mile in 555. Hawthorn (Mclnally) was doing slightly better than Coronis (Glading) at the end of an easy five furlongs run in 1.12. Matoru (McKenzie), who has taken no harm from his race at Te Awamutu, brought. Standstead (Gilmer) home over half-a-mile in 565. ' Prlnoe of Orange. Prince of Orange (Cotter) hit out freely over a round in 2.14. Prince of Orange is entered for the Te Kuiti hurdles on Saturday and should give a solid account of himself. Arack (Smith) gave an encouraging exhibition over a round of the steeplechase country. He shows promise for a novice at the game. Summer Hill (McLaughlin) and Curlew (Muir) were associated over four hurdles, the former hitting the second to last obstacle and dislodging his rider. Curlew's exhibition was a good one. Diacquedoon (Fergus), accompanied by Indiscretion (L. Dulieu) over a round of the steeplechase country gave an improved display. Both jumped confidently throughout. Allegretto Shapes Well. Allegretto (McLaughlin), Imperial Prince (Dulieu) and Te Monatekapa (Cotter) were associated over the steeplechase country. Allegretto gave a sound exhibition, finishing well clear of the other pair. He handled his obstacles in fine style and his appearance on the second day of the Waikato meeting will be awaited with interest. Te Monatekapa gave an encouraging exhibition. H. Dulieu arrived this morning, with Bantry, Grateful, Silk Sox, Mustang and Gold Mission, the other member of the team, Sporting Song being brought over from Te Awamutu on Saturday evening. O.ther visitors include Sea Fox, Dollar Bill, Rasouli, Arctic Star, Royal Liniond, Jolly Beggar, Glenavon, Glenthavvn and Indiscretion. Riding Engagements. Riding engagements include:— N. R.
