TE AROHA INTERESTS.
RETURNED SOLDIERS’ ASSOCIATION. Mr G. H. Nicholls presided at a meeting or the Te Aroha branch or the Returned Soldiers’ Association. , It was decided that the annual re-union «hould be beld on June 30. Tbe secretary was instructed to purchase Anzac stamps for association use. U wjs also decided to re-lnstate the subsidised working scheme wtth a maximum of three days per week, to be restricted to members only, the subsidy to be at the rate of 8d per hour.
Caledonian Society. The membership or the Te Aroha Caledonian society now totals 150. At a meeting or the executive committee held recently and at which Rev. J. Haslop presided, the matter of purchasing new unllorms for the band was discussed. A letter was received rrotn the Minister or Derence stating that unirorms could be obtained by negotiations with the Imperial authorities in England, it was decided to defer the matter until an appeal Tor Tunds had been made. It was decided to accept an invitation rrom the .Matamata Society to attend tbe May Ingleside.
Plunket Society. There was a large attendance or members at the monthly meeting or tbe society, presided over by Mrs F. W. Wild. The report or A'urse White for April was as rollows: New cases, 8; visits to homes, 00; visits to rooms, adults 162, babies 112, older children 29.
