ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
BURNED TO DEATH. WAIROA, Monday. Arthur Noffe (60), was burned to death when his whare at North Clyde _ caught tire. When the fire was discovered it was impossible to enter the building. At the inquest a verdict was returned that Noffe was burned to death, but there was no evidence to show how the fire originated. knocked down by car. WAIHI, Monday. Grey Wharepapa, a Maori, was knocked down by a motor car on the Watht-Paeroa Road. He suffered concussion and scalp wounds. His condition shows improvement. CAUGHT IN A MACHINE. WHAKATANE, Monday. William Hunua (9), had his arm caught in a milking machine, at Te Teko. The limb was crushed so severely that it was necessary to amputate it close to tho shoulder. As a result of his horse falling while lie was droving cattle In Wark worth this morning, Mr L. Petheriek, chairman of the Wark worth Town Board, suffered a fracture of one leg. lie was attended by Ur. G. Hartoshorne and was later conveyed to his home.
