WAIKATO CLUB.

FIRST RACE AT 11.15. STRICT OBSERVANCE OF STARTING The first race at Te Rapa on SaturSaturday will start promptly on schedule time and the last race will be run at 4.20 p.m. Every effort is to be made to conform strictly to the advertised starting times and with the co-operation of the public there is no reason why this cannot be achieved. There is nothing more irritating than haphazard observance in the running of a programme and in this the investing public are often more to blame than the officials concerned. Promptitude in the making of investments is the chief -contributory factor in the smooth conduct, of a programme. It was pleasing to note that on Saturday the Waipa Racing -Club’s Winter fixture set a high standard in this respect, the last race ’ being run right on time.

OTOROHANGA HACK FIELD. TO BE RUN IN DIVISIONS. Owing- to the large number of acceptors in the Otorohanga Hack Handicap, the entry of 30 exceeding the safety limit, the race is to he run in divisions. This has necessitated an alteration in the order of events, the first division being the second race on the programme and t'he second division, the sixth event. Bach division will carry a stake of £l5O with a sweepstakes of £2. The divisions have ibeen declared as follows: OTOROHANGA HACK HANDICAP. Or £150; 6 furs. 6 furs. First Division, st. lb. st. lb.
