BOGUS ROBBERY.
STORY TOLD TO POLICE. FINE UNDER NEW SECTION. WANGANUI, Monday. For supplying wrong information to the police at Auckland that he had been robbed of LI 17 at the races, David Gordon Lindsay was lined £5 this afternoon. His statement caused a certain amount of suspicion at the time on two other people who were with him at the races. Accused had lost a wallet containing £l6. It was the first prosecution here under this new i section of the Act.
