THEFT OF MONEY.
FISH SHOP ROBBED. PROBATION FOR YOUTH. Pleading guilty to a charge of thd theft of £1 10s in money from Henry Richard Jeffery, of Frankton Junction, a young man, Edward Rupert McKenzie was convicted and placed on probation for one year by Mr J. <«. L. Hewitt. S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, tu-day. plained that accused went into a flsh shop In Frankton and asked for Is worth of flsh and while the proprietor was away opened the till and took out the money. He was noticed, however, and was seen to throw something into a vacant section. When approached he denied taking the money, but when the police found the money on the section lie admitted the offence. This was his first fenceHis Worship asked for a report from the Probation Officer and after receiving it imposed sentence.
