MOTORISTS BEFORE COURT. VARIETY OF CHARGES HEARD. A variety of charges was heard against motorists in the Magistrate's Court, Hamilton, before Mr J. G. L Hewitt, S.M., to-day. For cranking his motor-car while it was in gear and while the brakes were not affixed. Ernest Devey was fined £1 with costs, 13s. Senior-Sergeant G. H. Lambert explained that defendant had parked bis car in Victoria Street and when starting it in gear it crashed through a plate glass window. Morris 10s with costs, while Richard Glover and Wilfred Glover, both of whom were charged with overloading and exceeding their licensed loads were each fTned £5 with costs. For exceeding the speed limit allowed by his heavy goods license, A. A. Ronalds was fined £2 with costs, while Leslie. Rothwell was fined a similar amount also for exceeding his licensed load and for exceeding the road classification.
