PILOT’S SUCCESS.
AIR FORCE COMMISSION. EXAMINATION IN LONDON. The final examination for a Short Service Commission in the Royal Air Force will tie taken by a Hamilton pilot, Mr Graham R. Magill, who will leave for London from Wellington on June 6. He has received instructions to report at the Air Ministry on July 24. Mr Magill. who was educated at the Te Aroha District High School and the Hamilton Technical High School, commenced the study of electrical engineering in 1932, obtaining a position with the Thames Valley Power Hoard. Later he Joined the staff of the New Zealand Herald at Hamilton and commenced a course or Hying instruction with Flight-Lieutenant W. li. Lett at the Waikato Airport, lie gained his A license in December of last year and made application for a Short Service Commission. the requisite tests applied in land and received a favourable recommendation from the Director of Aviation. Wing Commander T. M. W ilkes it is expected that when the formalties at the Air Ministry are completed he will commence Honing immediately.
