"JILL, DARLING.”

PRODUCTION IN SYDNEY. MUSICAL COMEDY PLEASES. I*f you enjoy the fun of Leo Franklyn—and who does not?—you will vote " Jill, Darling ” a capital show, says a Sydney paper. Franklyn has had many "fat” parts, but " Jill, Darling,” gives him almost the entire show, and he makes the most of every winning line. Sheer farce the show may be, but it- is merry stuff, and Sydney will like it — the brilliant audience at the Theatre Royal on Saturday night certainly did. Anything can happen when a “dry” candidate in the prohibition election campaign becomes hopelessly Jntoxcated on the eve of the poll, and his "double” is forced into his -shoes. Franklyn played both roles, and things did happen! * Most, pleasing, ton, was the brilliant success of Nellie Barnes. " Ban at. the Savoy” gave the little Australian girl her first, big -chance, and “ Jill, Darling” should carry her to a permanent. place in I lie top lines. “Jill, Darling” gave another young Australian, too. Lois Green, the opportunity to show that in her "The Firm ” has a potential star. She appeared to have nil those elusive qualities which make for foot light success, and the future should hold much for her. Two new faces in the show—Diana Du Cane and Bert Matthews—found swift favour.
