CLEARING SALE. AT MANGAPIKO. The New Zealand Loan and Mer» cantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, report (having held a successful clearing sale at Mangapiko, Te Awamutu, on account Mr J. A. Bailey yesterday. The attendance of buyers was a large one. The herd of approximately 80 head comprised a good proportion ef young Jerseys but there was also a scattering of other breeds. Throughout a keen inquiry existed and a remarkably good sale took place. Well forward young Jersey cows aftracted most attention but plainer class oows also participated In the strong bidding. Several aged farm horses commanded keen rivalry among purchasers and rrlces were substantially better than expeoted. The farm implements and sundries sold freely. Without exception all live and dead stock changed hands. We quote: Best quality young dairy oows close to profit, £7 5s to £8; good conditioned and coloured Jersey cows, £5 15s to £7; plainer types of cow’s, £4 15s to £5 iOs; backward and inferior classes. £3 tfts to £4 10s: unsound cows. £2 to £3 10s; aged mare, £3l; 5-year mare, £33; aged mare, £4O; disks, £11; swamp plough, £10; McConnick-Peering Mower, £24; tip dray, £l6; Duncan topdresser, £26 10s; drill, £l2.
