WAIKATO RACING CLUB
FINE ACCEPTANCE LIST. THIRTEEN IN BIQ EVENT. STRONG VISITING ENTRY. Splendid acceptances have been received for the first day of the Waikato Racing Club’s winter meeting at' Te Rapa on Saturday and Monday, May 23 and 25. The principal event, the Waikato Steeplechase, has drawn the fine entry of 13 and the Te Kuiti Hurdles 14 acceptors. The largest field Is that of 30 in the Otorohanga Hack Handicap while the President’s Handicap and open sprint have attracted fields of 16 and 21 respectively.' The total list of 140 constitutes easily a record for a winter meeting at Te Rapa this season’s figures exceeding the previous best of last year by 14. The response from owners is distinctly gratifying and indications are for a highly successful meeting, the fields including a strong southern representation. The acceptances are:— MAIDEN HANDICAP.
