OBITUARY.

MR .1. FALLOONA. ROTOHUA, Friday. The death has occurred at Mr John Falloona. aged 76, one of the oldest residents of the Rotorua district. Mr Falloona was living at Te \Vairan on the shores of Lake Tarawera at the time of the eruption of Mount Tarawera when the Maori settlement at Te \Vairna was completely overwhelmed. He was associated with many pioneering activities in the early days of settlement. MR H. BETTS. NEW PLYMOUTH, Thursday. Mr H. Betts, of Okaiawa, died tonight. in his 100th year. Mr Betts was one of the early settlers in South Tara—nnki, and became an expert and Succzssfui farmer and horiiculiurist.. REV. W. HEATHER. WHANGAEEI, Thursday. The [loath occurred te-day of the Rev, William Heather, aged 80. He was senior deacon of the Congrega—iinnal lihurch and at one time was an elder of the Pi‘rsmierian Llhurrh.
