Several Important proposals came before the monthly meeting ol’ the Leamlngton Town Board this week, when Mr J. W. Garland prrairled. Also present were:— Nlessrs A. El Peppercorn. \V. Horne. F. W. Skeet. T. llounsluw. J. Blackmail, G. Kelly and the clerk. Mr R. S. ltanna. Mr Blackman, the new member, was welcomed by the chairman. The chairman shied that many or the roads were in need of gravel, especially Lamb Street. lie considered material should be transported to the worst areas and suggested that ”honor-us t'or the work should be called. The suggestlm was adopted. lt was derided to exgami up to £2O on the road :enair “ark. The matter or heavy tramc passing over the Leamington road: was discussed and Mr Kelly was instructed to endeavour to se--cure fees from a firm transporting over the town. Referring to the [wormingr Street drain scheme, the clerk stated that the total cost to dale had been £6O 105 6d. After allowin: [or grants from the Unemployment guard the cost to the board had been £23 5. The treasurer‘s statement showed a credit balance or £206, and several rates \w-rr still outstanding. The chairman said the position was very satisrartory. Mr Kelly gave motive to rescind a motion [mast-(l a year ago. which made provision for the board to clean property rrontngcs in the town. - The Domain Board. An application was received by the Lenmington Domain Board. which later sat, from the Lemming-ton croquet Club, requesting tllat a new croquet lawn be formed to accommodate play. The estimated cost was £3O 10:. Levelling would cost £ls and it the board could obtain assistance from the Unemployment Board. the club would be asked to finance the remainder oi‘ the work. It was decided to meet the Croquet Club to discuss the scheme.
