ENG-E's SMART SIX. PROFESSIONAL IN GOOD NICK. (By lelesraph.—Syecial to Times.) AUCKLAND. Thursday. The middle grass was available for work at Takanini this morning and provided good going. Greek Gold and .\‘un .\‘icer were on terms throughout five tux-longs in 1.5, while Golden Sceptre completed a similar distance in 1.7.
The best. effort of the morning was credited to Ease who dashed over six furlrongs in 1.16 3-5. He was lightly weighted but nevertheless the effort was a. good one.
Speal-court and Beuismed were not doing their best. to run six furlongs in 1.20.
A good effort over half-a-mlle was accomplished by Professional who covered the distance in 51 2-55. Doric Star and Royal Passage completed half-a—miie by runnlns the last three lurlonss in 895, The Hiker strode over a mile and aquarter traversing his last mile in 1.51. He did his work well.
