The Foreign Secretary had another busy day at Geneva. lie saw the Ilumanian Foreign Minister and the Greek representative. as well as .\lr Sean Lester, the League lligh Gom—missioner for Danzig, and the president of the Danzig Senate. it is reported that. the Council this evening appointed .\lr Lester High Commissioner for another year, on the request 01' the Danzig Senate and the Polish Government. During its two hours‘ sitting the Council hurried through a long agenda at top speed. it has now adjourned until June 15. There was a lively argument. it is stated. in the course of a private seis—slon regarding the report submitted to the Slavery Committee by the italian Government. According to press telegrams the upshot was that the report \\'as circuiarisod to members 01' the Slavery Committee, with a note attached that the contents had been communicated by a military authority occupying foreign territory in Violation 01' the (Jov—enant. The main business at the public seSsion' was an offer of seats on the Council to China, as representative of Asia, and to some one 01' the smaller European Powers not belonging to one of the already recognised regional groups. This recommendation was referred to the Assembly for consideration in September. ———
