A message from Broken Hill states that detectives had an interview with Messrs. llarold and Allan Thompson. who had disappeared from the llawkesbury River district. The brothers had arrived there by train yesterday morning and hooked ac—commodation at the Freemasons‘ llolel. it is alleged that they gave their names as tiunner and Collins. .\lr Allan Thompson, aged 82, clerk, unmarried, of .\lanly, said that when they left Sydney over the week-end they had intended to go to Orange for u rest as his brother was sutl‘erlng from a nervous breakdown, but they found the bustle there too great and so continued their journey to Broken Hill on Monday. He felt in duty bound to accompany his brother owing to the condition of his health. Mr Harold Thompson. aged 35, a well—known solicitor, married, with one child, stated that he felt very ill. lie had left Sydney in order to get away from his worries and had not intended to return until he was well enough. He was surprised that there had been such a hue and cry over their disappearance, as he thought his relatives would have realised that they were safe. He expressed deep regret that the police had been so seriously tnponvenienced in trying to trace them. Mr liaroid Thompson declined to comment on the damage to the launch except to say that he was unaware that damage had occurred. His brother, however. stated that the boat, was simply abandoned.
