W FOR SCOUT FUNDS.. 1 A “Paddy‘s Market," was held in the \\'aitoa Hall recently in aid of the Scout. funds. There was an attend—ance‘of aboul'one hundred people in spite 01' the very inclement weather conditions. The numerous stalls and sideshows were well patronised.
A concert programme was given by the Scouts, the items ‘beingz—Piano—forte solos, Selwyn Webster; monologues, Jack Luxton; violin solos, Rex Blackwell; and hakas by the Scouts. A play reading “Mrs Sharp .\larries Again." was presented by the com—mittee. the cast. beingz—Mrs Sharpe (Mrs A. E. Blackwell). Mr Martin (Mr P. C. .\lcNeill}. Alison (Miss Muriel Luxion). Zoe (Miss Patty Luxton), liev. Todd (Mr E. Saunders), and Mary \Mrs 11. Blomficld). During the evening the presentation of 9. Thanks Badge was made to Mr A. .\I. Campbell (president), who is leaving the district, for his sen-ices to the troop during the past few years. The winners of the various competi—tions were z—Nail driving. Mrs E. Hol—land and .\ll' E. Gibson; candle light.— ins. Miss Peggy Klaus; “'l‘aipo," Mr S \\‘oolford. As a result of the eflort the Scout funds will benefit to the extent of £7. 5
