MATAMATA STOCK SALE The Farmers‘ (Jo-operative Auction—eering Company, Limited. report hav—ing 'held their usual fortnightly sale at Alatamala yesterday, when there was an exceptionally heavy yarding which necessitated a re—yarding. Cow and heifer beef was in average supply. the entry comprising mostly medium qual—ity cattle which sold readily at late rates. A heavy yarding of boner cows sold flrmiy, allhough values generally showed a slight, easing tendency since our previous report. Sheep: A full yarding of sheep comprising mostly rat lambs came forward. Competition was iirm and values were fully on a par wiih those ruling in other centres. The entry also comprised a number of sm. ewes (r.w.r.) which evoked good enquiry. a total clearance resulting. Dairies: There was a heavy yard—lng of dairy cattle which included the advertised entry of approximately 70 Jersey and Jersey cross cows, offered on account 0! Mr ’l‘. Mulhoiland, who has recently sold one of his properties. Competition was brisk for cattle showing quality and being early calvers. Poorer-conditioned and later calvers, although not so keenly sought, realised full market rates. Pigs: A large entry of fat pigs and a good yarding of stores and weaners resulted. Baconers were again in keen demand and late advanced rates were fully maintained, while porkers and unfinished sorts were not so keenly sought, prices casing on last week's quotations. Stores and \\'eaners met with a good demand and here again prices firmed on late quotations. “’8 quote:— Ualtle: Fat cows and heifers, £4 16510 513 35;]igl1l, £3 135 to £3l 14's; heavy boners, £2 05 to £3 ‘25: medi—um, £1 155 to £2 75: light‘ "253 to 335; potter bulls. £2 lbs to £3 175.
