EXCHANGE RATE.
NO IMMEDIATE RISE. ADJUSTMENT INEVITABLE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Prime Minister, Mr Savage, gave an assurance to-day that there was no chance of an increase in the exchange rate. “High exchange,” he said, “is a barrier between ourselves and our best customer, and the greatest problem we have is to get away from that with the least amount of disturbance. It is possible that the day must come, but it is not yet.’’
