SUCCESS OF OPERATIONS. .\IR D. SUTTON AGAIN PRESIDENT. A much-improved ilnancial position furnished a subject for congratulation at the annual meeting 01‘ the Hamilton Kennel Club last evening. The presi—dent, Mr 1.). Sutton, presided. .\ir Sutton said that the )‘car com—menced with a debit balance, but the present period had closed with a credit of £ll. Negotiations had been opened with the Waihato Agricultural and Pastoral Association, with the result that \the club's exhibition had been held in conjunction with the summer show at Claudelands on .\‘overnber 8 and 9. It has proved a distinct success, the usual high standard of quality being fully maintained. A very successful parade had also been conducted in the Lake grounds on March 12. 95 dogs taking part. .\ very pleasing feature of the parade had been the large number of novice t‘anciers competing. while large entries in all classes were received in a children's show held in conjunction with the parade. The shield for the besteonditioncd dog had been keenly contested. the shield being awarded [U the Forest Lake School. The report. added that the secretary, Mr J. .\i. Bower, had, through ill—heaith, been forced to relinquish the position, and the club had been l'ortuhate in having Miss ii. Vyner to act as secretary. omcers Elected. Mr B. English, who had been honor—ary auditor for the club since Its in—ception, was presented with a life—member's badge by Mr Sutton. and the secretary and treasurer, .\liss Vyner and Mr F. B. “2111, together wiih Mr J, \V. Held. were accorded unanimous votes of thanks.
A sub-committee was appointed to revise th_e ‘staqding rules‘o‘f the club.
The, Incoming committee was in‘ structed to open negotiations with the \Vaikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association to hold the club‘s annual show in conjunction with the summer show at Claudelands. and a suggestion was brought forward by Mr Prickett that the club should be directly re—presented on the Agricultural and Pas—toral Association‘s executive. The need for larger accommodation for the dog classes was stressed by several speakers.
