ROTOTUNA NEWS.

OHURcI-l ANNIVERSARY. The anniversary services in connection with the Rototuna Church were held recently, the afternoon service being icon-ducted by the Rev. G. E. Brown, when there was special singing, a duet being rendered by members of the choir and a solo by Miss Jenkins. The speaker at vhe even—ing service wars Mr Bradley, and an anthem was rendered by the choir.

Celebrations were continued on Thursday evening, when an old-rash-i-oned Soiree tea was head. after which an interesting and varied programme was presented.

The programme was as follows: Doxology Prayer; pian-oforte duet, Misses Dorothy Clements and Joan C-hmprma'n; solo, Mr Scrimshaw; elocu—tion, Master Roderick Fullerton: solo, Mr Wheatley; duet, Mrs Macdonald and Miss Clement; elocution, Mr Attwood; solo, Mrs Hall; elocution, Miss Grace Clement; solos, Mrs Chapman. A oommiunity sing, led by Rev. G. Brown, with Mrs Macdona’ld at the, piano, was much appreciated. A playette, “Cinderella Up—to-date,” was staged, the characters being as followsz—Elia, Miss Rene Clement; the two sisters, Misses Marjory and Dorothy Clements, Aunt Fortescue, Miss Mavis Micrs; Gran‘ma, Miss Grace Clement; Maid, Miss Grace Clements; and Jack Denl)y, Mr Eric Clement. A welcome was extended to Rev. and Mrs Brown by Mr A. E. Thomas, on behalf of the Methodists, Rev. 11. .l. Lil-burn for the Prcshytcrians, and Mr A. 11. Clement, Sunday Soho-cl super—intendent. Mrs Brown was presented with a bouquet by Miss Olive Attwood. Mr Brown suitably acknowledged the welcome tendered to himself and his wife. I

The secretary's report was read by Mr A. E. Thomas and showed a satisfactory condition and a financial credit balance.

The pronouncing of the benediction closed a. very enjoyable evening.
