The Government would contribute $1,750,000 to relieve unemployment by the construction of airports and harbours, public health and publlc Works. local authorities contributing £750,000. The national debt was $228,854,000 compared with £22.313,000 when Mr De Valera assumed ofiiee. The country’s finances were. sound. and spending power had increased. The income and property tax rose by £300,000.
