HANDKERCHIEF PARTY.

FOR MISS BERVL FOSTER. 1 _._—- DELIGHTFUL AFTERNOON. Mrs H. G. Absolum and Mrs H. B. Taylor were hostesses at Mrs Taylor's home in Upper Kent Street yesterday afternoon ‘at a. delightful “handkerchief“ afternoon for Miss Beryl Foster. Whose marriage will take place this week. The time passed very happily with community singing with Mrs Absolum at the piano and competitions, which were won by Mrs B. H. Andrews and Miss Irene Moore. Songs were given by Mrs Farr and Mrs A. E. McCracken, and much appreciated. After a delicious afternoon tea the gift parcels were opened by the guest of honour. Who suitably replied. The rooms looked charming with vivid bowls of autumn toned crysanthemums and marigolds. Mrs Taylor was wearing black crepe fenella, and Mrs Ab-s‘ol‘um deep green woven crepe with gold wrought Clasps. The guest of honour‘s frock was of amber rust wool crepe with collar or gold lame and toning felt hat, and Mrs G. Foster wore a bottle green ensemble and halo hat.
