E. Gibbons. presided-l A further letter was received from} the City Football Club in reference‘to it‘he regradlng of T. Comer from senior to Junior and after discussion it was referred to the Junior Advisory Board. Mr N. Hamilton was unanimously reappointed selector for the senior representatives. There Was a lengthy discussion on the question or retereeing the major games of the day. members being or the opinion that the most important matches should be controlled by the most qualified referees. It was agreed that this may not suit the referees who were still learning but it was thought that the. public and players were en—titled to the best referee available. A recommendation on these lines to the Referees Appointment Board was carried unanimously. King’s Birthday Match. The secretary, Mr T. \V. Thompson, rep-Dried that although no reply had l'heen received to the union‘s invitation to Taurangs to send a team to Hamilton on June 23, he had received a telephone message from the Tauranga Union stating that there was a race meeting in Tauranga on that day and it might prove difficult. to get a team iaway. The matter was left for a further week. The question of training nights for the clubs was alsodiscussed at length, the meeting :being or the opinion that it was very unsatisfactory for _all concerned to conduct a ballot each year. It was decided to conduct the final ‘ballot and from then on the clubs to ‘rotate the nights each year. The hei—ilot resulted: Old Boys, Tuesday nights; Frankton, Wednesday nights; Technical Old Boys, Thursday nights. The nights are now automatically iixed for each year, the clubs taking the following night each year. An inspection of sprigs of all players under the jurisdiction oi“ the union will be undertaken on May 23. The Junior Advisory Board applied through the Hamilton Union to the Waikato Union for a match for the Hamilton junior representatives as u curtain—raiser to the Auckland—Waikato match on June 3. Owing to the “hips races on Saturday the two Tc Awmnutu teams, who were drawn to meet each other. have decided to postpone their game until later in the season. i The Fixture List.
