OBITUARY.

MRB ANNIE M. INNIS. (Spectal to Times.) .\IORRINSVILLE. Tuesday. A pioneer of the Lower Thames Valley passed away with the death at .\lorrinsvilie of Mrs Annie .\iaria innis. widow of the late Mr Arthur Innis, of “hut-epoa and Thames, aged ‘76. Mrs innis had resided with her daughter. Mrs R. Troughton. of Morrinsville. since the death of her husband about two years ago. Mr and Mrs Innis settled on a bush section of a. hundred acres on the banks of the \Vaihou River at \Vharepon when a large block of land in that district was sub-divided (or settlement about 60 years ago. The first. settlers encountered great hardships, as the heavy bush had to be felled and the land cleared before they could begin farming. .\lr innis brought his farm to a high state of production, retiring to live at Thames about 12 years ago.

.\lns Innis is survived by a family of (Ive son: and seven daughters. as‘fDllows: .\lcssrs F. Innis (Puma). and A. Innis and 11. Innis (Kel‘epechi), L. Innis {\Vhakatanc). G. Innis ‘\\'hare—pout. .\lesdames 11. Morrison (Hikuiaia). D. Trougitton (Tul‘ua), .I. Dauil (Otox'ohansa), R. Troushton (Morrinsvilic). A. Brook‘s (Netherton). W. Booth xKerepeehi) and R. Alexander (Hikutala). Two daughters predeceased her, and two sons lost their lives in the Great \V’ar.

V Th 6 interment was at \Nlmrepoa Cemetery, and was preceded by a service at the llikutaia Church.
