“BORROWED A BABY.”
i Y YOUNG WOMAN’S HOAX. CONSENT TO MAINTENANCE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NAPIER. Monday. A hoax perpetrated by a young woman who “borrowed" a baby in respect or which she obtained aniliniion and maintenance orders was revealed in the Police court when Sylvia May Flynn, a domestic, aged 22, pleaded guilty to two charges of making false statements on oath. it was shown by the police that tho girl. after obtaining a miscarriage, had a young man named Randall Gannaway adjudged the father or her unborn child, Later she adopted a child from a home and produced it in support of her claim for maintenance. to which Hannaway consented. The child was [aim- roiurned to the home. Accused was committed for sentence.
