Ilhode Island. states that Mr Harold June. “peaking at the annual dinner or the British \‘eterans‘ Association or the island, revealed that he and .\lr Lin—coln Elisworlh are planning a joint npedition to the Antarctic in the hope of iinding what is thought to be the last remaining continent in the world. Mr June said the expedition would be attempted in two or three years when new equipment had been designed. This would include a tractor to carry two aeroplanes so as to traverse the ice as far as possible and then take to the air. The area or the new continent which the explorers hope to claim {or the United States is about one—third the size of Australia. It is on a straight line through the South Pole from Little 2merioa.

Mr Harold June Is one of the four men who nccompanied Commander Byrd on his first flight over the South Pole on November 30. 1929. Although Mr June was on board as radio opera—tor, his time was occupied in other directions and he could send messages only at infrequent intervals.
