THERMAL ACTIVITY.
cLIMBIR‘B OBSERVATIONO. THE CHATEAU, Tuesday. A party or climbers who ascended Mount Buapehu yesterday. on their return to The Chateau reported signs of thermal activity. Mud had been thrown up re—cently. Mr C. Risberg, who led the party, is of opinion that e geyser at the 'bed of the lake forced the mud up. He will make a further inspection in the next few days. No Alarm Oooulonod. A Press Association message from the Chateau states that all is quiet, and no alarm ls felt by residents. The eruption was not accompanied 'by an earthquake. no shock being felt at the Chateau buildings. Guide Risberg is making a turther inspection or the scene of the eruption to—day.
