The full programme and conditions °f entry for the Empire Games, to be held in Sydney in February. 1938. were announced last night. A summary of the programme is as follow*: Athletics.—lndividual events: Four competitors per country. Team events; |'One team, with twice the number In the team as reserves. Boxing.—One competitor per country for each event. Cycling.—One entry per country for 1 each event. ! Swimming. Three competitors per country. Team events: One team per country. Wrestlings—One competitor per country each event. The athletics, track and field events for men include 100 yards. 220 yards, 440 yards, £6O yards, one mile, three miles, six miles, marathon, two miles steeplechase. 120 yards. 4to yards hurdles, high and long jumps. hop. step and jump, pole vault. throwing I the javelin, discus, putting 161 b. shot. ■ throwing !<l|b hammer. I Relays will be mu over 440 yards j and one mile. j Boxing covers flyweight, bantam. 1 welter, middle, light and heavyweight I contests. ! Thursday. | The management committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union last night I carried a resolution that unions should be informed that the decision come to by the msjority of delegate, at the annual meetiug that three men should be played in the front row of the serum in New Zealand this season must he obeyed. The chairman. Mr S. S. Dean, said delegates at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Colon came to a gentlemen's agreement that three men should be played rt, the front row of the serum this season, and it was the duty Of clubs to abide by that decision. England is no longer able to’claim soccer pre-eminence, as yesterday the Austrians defeated a strong English eleven at Vienna, in Ihe presence of 60,000 people. The Austrians were faster and more scientific than the visitors, from whom they received their first lessons 40 years ago. Hungary and Czechoslovakia defeated England last year. LEAVE WITHHELD.
