OBITUARY.
MRS W. E. AREY. The death occurred last Saturday at Hamilton, of Mrs W. E Arey, of Mountain Road, Epsom, after a brief illness. Born in Auckland, Mrs Arey was well-known in that city, having been prominent in croquet and social circles for a number of years. On the occasion of the first visit of the English croquet players Mrs Arey was chosen as one of the Auckland team. For some years she was secretary of the Mount Hobson Croquet Club and also held office in the Ponsonbv Croquet Club. Mrs Arey was the •second daughter of the late Mr J. Carrigan. and in 1900 married Mr \V- E. Arey, a well-known Auckland business man and proprietor for many years of ihe book firm of Wildinan and Arey. He died last October. Mrs Arey’s death will come as a shock to her many friends. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs \V. \V. Oilliear and Mrs R. Braitlw waitc, botli of Hamilton. MR A. 8. MURDOCH. MELBOURNE. Monday. The death of Mr Arthur Stuart Murdoch, a former manager of the Bank of Australasia in Auckland, occurred in Melbourne last Saturday. Mr Murdoch, who was t»9 years of age, was horn in Scotland, but spent practically al! his life iin Australia and New Zeaiand.
