POLICE TRANSFER.
OFFICER AT FRANKTON. PROMINENT HOCKEY PLAYER. ■Constable Walter Peters, who has been stationed at Frankton for the last nine years, has received notification of his transfer as offlcer-in-eharge to Coromandel. Constable McLean, of Coromandel, will exchange with him. Coming from Dunedin in 1921, Mr Peters was for nine months attached to the Hamilton station before joining the late Constable G. 11. Warneford at Frankton. Mr Peters was well known in the Hamilton district as a hockey player. FJe has represented Southland and Waikato at hockey, and was formerly a member of the United Club at Hamilton, though he did not take the field this season. He is a past grandmaster of the local Manchester Unity Oddfellows, and is a member of the Frankton Bowling Club. His departure will be the cause of regret among a large circle of friends and acquaintances in the district.
