NEW STEAMER FOR THE NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT. —The T.S.S. Matai, which has been built an engined to the order of the New Zealand Government by Messrs. R. and W. Hawthorn, Leslie, and Co., Ltd., at H ebburn-on-Tyne. The vessel Is to be used for lighthouse and general .service, and will replace the old steamer Tutanekai. The photograph was taken during the vessel’s trials.
