LOCAL OBSERVATIONS. Miss Budd, of Balfour, M. Irvine and Webster, Ltd., supplies the following observations of the weather: — \ Thermometer. Max. Min. Wednesday, 63.00 39.00 Thursday 59.00 37.00 Barometer. Wednesday •• 29.85 Thursday •••• 30.15 Barometer, 30.15, with a rising tendency. Indications are generally fair weather to-day, overcast at times; brisk winds mostly from a southerly direction, and lower temperature. The rainfall for the previous 24 hours amounts to 0.10 points, and six degrees of frost . were registered this morning. Mean temperature, 48 degrees.
The Weather Bureau wires: The indications for 24 hours from 9 a.m, this day for moderate southerly winds. There is a prospect of fair weather. The night will probably be very cold, with frosts inland. Barometer rising slowly.
