AGA KHAN AND WIFE
ESTRANGEMENT RUMOUR DENIED. In view of sensational reports tha' have been circulated at Deauville recently concerning t'he Aga. Khan and his pretty young French wife, a correspondent to the Daily Mail sought an authoritative statement from the Aga Khan. The Begum Aga Khan was in Switzerland, while her husband was at Deauville concerning himself with the sale of his yearlings at Deauville bloodstock sale. Begum’s Illness. The Aga Khan said: “I have heard the talk of an estrangement between my wife and myself. It is quite untrue. “My wife is in Switzerland and is suffering from an abscess in the left side of the face. She is being treated by an American physician, Dr. Dear. "It had been hoped that she would have been able to come here, and everything had been arranged for her to join me but for her unfortunate ill- “ You know, nothing brings husband and wife together more than illness, and I am leaving immediately after the races and the sale of my yearlings at Deauville’s Tattersall’s to join her." Presented at Court. The Aga Khan’s marriage to Mile. Andree Carron at Aix-les-Bains last December was regarded as an outstanding social as well as political event, and the presentation at Court of the .Begum Aga Khan aroused world-wide interest, not only on account of her personality and that of her husband, but also for the magnificent white and silver brocade gown and diadem of diamonds which the Begum wore.
