REFORM PARTY.

WOMEN'S DIVISION. MEETING IN HAMILTON. Mrs J. M. Jones, J.P., presided over a well-attended meeting- of the Women’s Division, held in Hamilton on Tuesday afternoon. Members were present from the Hamilton, Waikato, Waitomo, and Raglan electorates. Mrs E. G. Johnson, the delegate to the Dominion Conference at Wellington, gave a comprehensive report of the matters discussed at the conference. The leader of the Party, the Right Hon. J. G.. Coates, had given the confernce some general points of policy for the guidance and information of the party’s supporters. The main points were:—(l) Strict economy in Government expenditure; (2) removal of the railways from political control, and the vesting of the administration in the hands of a non-political directorate; (3) that unemployment should not be treated on such a basis as to attract labour away from the farms or industry; (4) derating of farm lands; j 5) encouragement of the principle of payment (above a'minimum wage) according to output or results; '(6) reduction of the costs of production by nationalisation of industry and cooperation between capital and labour. And , especially the reduction of farming costs to enable the farmers to meet the lower price levels now prevailing; (6) Empire trade. The delegate reported that speeches were given at the conference toy various members of Parliament on political questions of the day, and many matters of importance to the party were discussed, The delegates left the conference thoroughly satisfied with the informative time spent and 'convinced with the necessity of having a stable Reform Government returned to power at the next election to prevent this country drifting to financial disaster. The meeting passed a very hearty vote of thanks to Mrs Johnson for her able report, and also paid a similar compliment to the chairman.
