tThe Governor-General, Lord Bledis r r loe, visited.a hosiery factory in Wellington yesterday. On Monday morning His Excellency will attend a meeting of the Sailors’ Friend Society.

Mr. George Rox is in Hamilton making. arrangements for the re-appear-ance of the Humphrey Bishop Company next month, after an absence of several years in Australia.

Rev. John Bissett, evangelist of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, Is in Hamilton. He will conduct a ten--1 days’ mission in First Church, Frankton, commencing to-morrow.

! Messrs W. Fletcher Neal, A. D. Smith, L. Keven, F. Paton, I. Malcolm, W. G. Nicholson, and S. C. Gascoigne, of Auckland, are at the Hamilton Hotel.

Jack Hobbs, the English cricketer, and his wife are to sail for India In October. They will remain there three months as the guests of the Maharaja Kumar of Vizianagram. Hobbs is not feeling well and will welcome a rest after a trying season.

Mr John G. Weightman, F.R.H.S., of Feilding, has been appointed judge of the Hamilton Spring Show oh 16th instant. Mr Weightman will also officiate at the Dominion’s largest Daffodil Show, Lower Hutt, the following day.

Mr W. .Fraser, principal of the Hamilton Technical High School, will leave to-morrow for Wellington to attend the annual conference of Technical School Boards opening next week. Mr S. B. Sims, a member of the 'board, will leave on Monday.

The Rev. P. C. Hoskyn, late of Devonport, was inducted to the charge of the Raglan Congregational Church cn Thursday evening. The officiating ministers were the Rev. R. C. Roberts, of Mount Eden, who preached the charge to the minister, and the Rev. Geo.- Jackson, of Green Lane, who preached the charge to the church.

Mr J. G. Bateson, of Hamilton, lias been in the North of England, .writes a London correspondent, under date August 1. He visited the Royal Show at Manchester and the annual YorkGala in .Tune, lie will attend the Southport Show in August. Next week lie will leave for Holland.
