MATAMATA SCHOOL.

PRIMARY COMMITTEE MEETING. The monthly meeting of . the Matamata Primary School Committee was held on Tuesday evening, Rev. A. C. Hampton presiding. The chairman reported on the recent visit of the architect, when the latter promised to recommend the painting of the school and schoolhouse and reuovations to the outbuildings. A vote of thanks was passed to the teachers and all those wffio assisted to make the annual picnic a success. It was decided to recommend to the incoming committee to change the meeting date in future to the first Monday in the month, and also to request the Junior High School committee to change its day of meeting to Tuesday. The headmaster reported a roll of 187 for the month, with an average attendance of 180. An average of 201 was necessary to maintain the present staff, and probably a teacher would be lost at the end of the present term.
