DESTRUCTIVE FIRES.
OUTBREAK AT ROTORUA. TAILOR’S SHOP DAMAGED. ROTORUA, Tuesday. A fire broke out in a shop occupied by Mr. Brooker, tailor, in Tutanekai Street, this evening. The fire was confined to the shop, which, was one of an extensive block just opposite the Majestic Theatre. Considerable damage was caused by water to stock. SOAP WORKS DESTROYED. ißy Telegraph.—Press Association. 1 ) PALMERSTON N., Tuesday. Fire destroyed the Dominion soap works, owned by Drill and Burrow, Ibis afternoon. The loss is estimated at £2OOO. The insurance is £I2OO. Four tons of rosin, three ions of tallow and nine tons of soap burned furiously for several hours.
