SWALLOWED POISON
CAPTAIN COOPER’S DEATH
FINDING OF THE CORONER. (Bv Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N„ Wednesday. Sitting as Coroner, Air Stout, S.M., conducted an inquest into the circumstances surrounding the death of Caplam Henry Cooper, veterinary practitioner, aged 55, who swallowed Hie contents of a small bottle of poison on March 5, when being removed by a constable from the residence of his wife from wliom he was legally separated. The constable gave evidence that deceased was in a half-drunken condition. Just as a taxi arrived !o convey them to the police station accused put a bottle to his mouth. The Coroner returned a verdict that deceased died from the effects of poison self administered while in a state of intoxication.
